I listen to K-pop but i don’t follow them obsessively like a true blue k-pop fan. :)

I do enjoy the music though and fangirl over some of them, mostly because i find some of their members uber hot. :)

Here’s a list of my most favorites:

BOY BANDS

2 AM

These boys sure know how to sing and I loveeeeeeee everything that they come up with from YOUR SONG when they were just starting with their career up to WONDER IF YOU HURT LIKE ME now that they are already hitmakers at present.

Their songs are perfection and just my cup of tea.

Their singing is top notch and the lyrics that they come up with are soooo heartwrenching that it makes me tear up just listening to them sometimes.

It doesn’t hurt at all too that these are the songs that i love singing along to and that they are absolutely perfect to listen to when i’m feeling nostalgic and sentimental and when i just want to be alone in the dark and quiet.

Most Favorite Songs from this group: Confession of a Friend, Like Crazy, Can’t Let You Go even if i die, Wonder if you Hurt Like Me

Most Favorite Member: JinWoon. His eye smile kills me and i love how he’s not just a good singer but also a good actor. I also particularly love his sense of humor especially when he tandems up with Seulong.

BIG BANG

Though their music influences are definitely western, i love how Big Bang has retained that KPop feel to their music and elevated it to the next level.

Aside from that, i am extremely in awe of how they make their own music and still manage to churn out hit after hit after hit.

From their ever evolving fashion, to their variety show skills and their penchant for putting on great big performances that always wow their audience, Big Bang is a class act all of their own.

Most Favorite Songs from this group: Lies, Haru Haru, Blue and not to mention the other numerous songs that i love from G-D and Top’s solo albums.

Most Favorite Member: TOP. He’s so quiet and mysterious and sexy and when he performs on stage he absolutely melts off my panties. Is all.

SHINHWA

My first foray into K-pop was due mostly to my love for these men and i have never looked back since. 

There’s really a reason why they are called Legends.

Because they are.

In every sense of the word.

Spanning years and a decade of music and proving to the world how their music is timeless, i love how they are still around and as Strong as Ever.

Whether it be in a variety show, where i think they are virtual Kings or acting or producing, this group has done it all and still i can’t get enough of them.

Most Favorite songs from this group: Once in a Lifetime, Eusha Eusha, Wild Eyes

Most favorite member: Please don’t let me choose.

Just don’t.

Because i can’t.

So let me put it this way, Eric for his movie star good looks and 4D personality, Dongwan for his wit and cheesiness, Minwoo for his dancing and confidence, Junjin for his variety show skills and hot bod, Andy for being perfect husband material and being the man you want to bring home to momma and Hyesung for trying too hard and for his awkwardness.

In short, i love each and every one of them equally that it would be hard for me to just choose one even if you ask me.

CN BLUE

At a time when all Kpop ditties are sounding the same, CN Blue burst into the picture with a sound that was refreshingly theirs and music that was distinctly fresh that one can not help but take notice.

I love how they were unique in their packaging as a band rather than the standard K-pop boys who sing and dance and the way that they play their instruments only add more to their elusive charm as a group that you’d want to follow.

The melody of their songs are addicting and i love how their sound has a little bit of ska and Jack Johnson thrown into them elevating them a notch higher in my opinion than the standard k-pop groups that i was used to.

Most Favorite songs: I’m a Loner, Love Light, Hey You, Love

Most Favorite Member: Jung Yonghwa. His hand gestures and winking when singing drives me crazy and i love his sense of humor. He totally transforms from choding in real life to Manly man when he performs and i love that surprise twist to his personality.

SUPER JUNIOR

Catchy tunes, catchy dance moves, this is SuJu’s signature come on and i am definitely hooked.

Though it took me some time to memorize each and every one of its 13 members, when i finally did i truly appreciated how they all have such distinctive personalities from one another.

Though some of the melodies of their songs seem to overlap with one another and sound the same the more that you listen to it, it still works for me because as they say, if it ain’t broke, then why fix it?

Favorite songs: Sorry, Sorry, Mr. Simple, No Other

Favorite members: Eunhyuk, Heechul, Shindong and Lee Teuk because they bring on the funnies, Kyuhyun for the sarcastic, sharp wit that he keeps hidden underneath his baby face and Siwon because GODDDDDDDD… it’s Siwon, do i even need to explain.

SS501

Though it’s sad that this group is not anymore active and i think has already disbanded, i would forever hold a special place in my heart for Double S because they introduced me to bubblegum kpop and made me like it.

However, i love how as the years go by, the sound of SS501 has also continuously evolved along with them to reflect the growing maturity of the boys.

They have not stuck with one sound but instead they are constantly changing their type of music and it keeps their fans on their toes wondering what they have up their sleeves next.

One of the funniest groups that i’ve ever seen, they reminded me a lot of Shinhwa when they are on variety shows and if only they would have stayed together, i have no doubt they were also destined to be a group that would be legendary.

Favorite songs: Love Like This, Because I’m Stupid, I’m Your Man, Fighter

Favorite member: PSSSHHHHH… if you follow my blog do you even need to ask?

Obviously it’s the love of my life.

My one and only boylet KIM HYUN JOONG.

He’s the total package.

TOTAL, i tell you. 

But aside from his good looks, i love how he’s no-nonsense and 4D and totally unaware that he’s good looking.  He’s not afraid to speak his mind and to be dorky and i would love him forever for being the only HOT guy on earth who would do whatever shit he wants because he doesn’t give a damn what others would think and i love how real of a person that makes him.

GIRL GROUPS

Girls Generation

Music wise, this group is perfect.

I think there’s a reason why they’re at the top of their game and it’s simply because SM always comes up with the best song choices when it comes to SNSD.

They’re sexy and pretty but let’s admit it, not all of their members are as talented as the others and it is that imbalance that is keeping me from falling head over heels in love with this group as i really don’t like some of the members.

There are some who would remain nameless that i think get by sheerly based on good looks rather than talent.

However, the good thing about this group is how despite that imperfection everyone still throws their own weight in making sure that they bring out their A-Game every time they perform.

Now that’s something i truly appreciate because to me, talent and good looks would altogether be wasted if you rely basically on that but still don’t put enough effort to hone it and improve it.

Favorite Songs: Hoot, Gee, Tell Me your Wish, The Boyz

Favorite member: SeoHyun.

I love how she’s not an empty vase and that she genuinely has principles and cares about her studies and that she is not vain and vapid. 

Sure, she might not be the most talented out of the bunch because let’s admit it Taeyeon trumps everyone in the singing department, but i still like her earnestness and eagerness to learning more in order to improve herself and to deliver what people expect from her.

2NE1

Oh wow.

How do i even start to describe how much i love this group?

Musically and talent wise, these girls are it. 

Sure, Sandara might not be as strong as Bom and CL and Minzy in the sing and dance department but she makes up for that by being the Ace when it comes to talk and variety.

I love how 2NE1 is all about girl power and being bad ass and breaking that glass ceiling where only boy bands can come across as tough and kick ass.

I have not yet heard a 2ne1 song that i didn’t love from the get go.

I have not yet encountered a song of theirs that i didn’t want to sing along to or dance to.

I have not yet seen an MV of theirs where i didn’t say “DAMN. That was awesome” and there is not yet a time when i haven’t wondered how they can wear the most Gaga-esque of outfits and still make it appear hip and fashionable.

Truly, 2ne1 for me,  is in a league of their own.

They’re not just destined for Kpop but to me they can be mainstream and i can’t wait for that to happen because i have a feeling someday sooner or later it really will.

Most Favorite songs from this group: Lonely, Ugly, It Hurts

Most Favorite Member: Sandara Park.

Because she’s humble and knows how to look back where she came from and because she gambled everything just to be a part of this group and she tries her best to cope no matter how difficult she sometimes finds it to.
