Plot wise and story wise, i think that for all intents and purposes this drama was aiming for epicness and it was evident from all the grandeur and opulence of that rich soundtrack, it’s vivid texture, the grand production design and the ostentatious fashion of the characters that sometimes border on the crazy.
However, somehow for all its good intentions, i agree with you that there are some parts that got quite draggy and repetitive as the palace politics were dragged too long and there were just too many obstacles for the OTP to surpass before they even got together.
Still, the moments between Crown Prince Shin and Princess Chae Gyung more than made up for it. Their relationship was poignant and vibrant and fresh and though it was sometimes sad to watch them just growing further and further apart because of the contrived plot of this series, it was still a treat to see their insane chemistry when they are even so much within touching distance of each other.
Though Princess Hours is not a drama that i would say rocked my world that it is unforgettable, it still made enough of a mark for me to have that urge to rewatch it from time to time even if i fast forward through some scenes in the whole series.
